Batteries and Other Onboard Energy Storage
At RJ Electricar we believe that the battery is only one of the technologies that can be used to store energy onboard an electric vehicle. Some of these other technologies include ultra capacitors, flywheels, electrostatic generators, thermal energy, pneumatic generators. It is one of our priorities to make sure we have the best forms of energy storage on our vehicles. This will ensure that our customers get the longest range electric vehicles available on the market. Our targets for the Flash LRE are 300 plus miles on a single charge.
Lead Acid Battery
Commercially available in 12 or 24 volt versions. Initially each vehicle will require 10 batteries per battery pack.
Lithium Ion BatteriesThese batteries are somewhat commercially available but come in smaller voltages. A typical battery pack might include 150 1.3 Volt batteries at a total cost of 2500 USD to 3000 USD. The advantage of these batteries is that even though they are more expensive than the lead acid battery they are 30 % lighter and can handle larger long term amp draws without overheating.
